Focus: The Full Guide To Fixing Your Mind

Focus is one of the keys to life.

Without Focus, our minds are boggled everywhere, always lost in thought, and thinking about things we shouldn't be thinking about.

But what even is focus?

Why do I need focus?

How do you decide what to focus on?

In this guide, it will be clear to you on what focus is.

You will know how to MAXIMIZE focus to your advantage.

And lastly, your desired outcome will be brought to you faster than you can imagine.

Welcome to Focus,

qezics.

Let's begin with a simple question:

What is focus?

Here's my definition: Complete attention and energy into one input for one or more outputs

Simple Terms: Giving your all to one thing

What does this mean?

Focus is the ability to remove everything else except for one thing, put all attention and energy into that one thing, and do it all for a return.

Instead of having your attention scattered in multiple things like social media, cat videos, and the nearest light show, focus means going down on ONE thing only.

"Well, why is focus even important?" You might ask

Here's why!

Without focus, important tasks such as getting homework done, finishing that project, or even managing a business becomes impossible!

We NEED focus in order to stay fully aligned to a task.

Without focus, we keep getting distracted by everything that might interest us!

Focus has allowed us to build skyscrapers, create the iPhone, make water drinkable and so much more.

Yet...nowadays none of us can focus anymore!

How do we solve this issue?

By learning to focus. Let's start with deciding what to focus on.

A mistake a lot of people make when trying to focus is to focus on many different things.

That's rookie mistake number one!

When you're focusing, you only want to focus on one thing at a time, never two, and most definitely not three!

But what should be the one thing to focus on?

It all depends on your goals...

If you don't have any, let's set some goals together.

When I say so, close your eyes and think about the kind of things you want to achieve, the person you want to become, the life you want to live, and everything else that pops up in your mind.

Do this for 30 seconds. You may start.

Got your image in mind? Perfect. Now write down digitally or on a piece of paper everything that came to mind.

This is now your "north star."

This will be the thing you will need to focus to achieve.

Now, write down the things you will need in order to reach it!

That could be money, maybe an athletic body, social skills, it could be anything!

It doesn't matter how hard it may seem to achieve, write it down.

The only thing stopping you is your beliefs.

If you believe you can achieve it, you can achieve anything!

Now that you have your North Star and the things you will need to achieve it, you will need to focus on tasks that help you achieve the things to reach it.

This part might need some thinking, but in the back of your mind, you probably have some ideas.

If it's to become an author, start writing a book.

If it's to become filthy rich, read some books on wealth ( I recommend The Millionaire Fastlane by MJ Demarco)

If it's to be an astronaut, start learning the things required to be one!

That's the one thing you need to focus on. Nothing else will help you reach your north star, and if it does, take the opportunity!

Now, let's talk about one pesky thing called a distraction

Distractions, for the most part, are everywhere!

The notification that popped up on your phone? A distraction!

The new video game that just launched? A distraction!

And yes, those random thoughts in your head are also a distraction!

Distractions are the thing that will KILL your focus!

They are robots with one function: "wE MuSt KiLl FoCuS!"

Letting these robots touch you is the END of all focus...

You have to get rid of them by placing "walls" around you.

Well, how do you do that?

By changing your inner and outer environment

Your inner environment is the area in your "personal bubble"

That means your desk, chair, bed, or anywhere near you.

If there is anything in that bubble that can distract you, like your phone or a movie playing, remove it, or else there's a hole in the wall and the robots will come through.

Your outer environment is the area you are focusing in

This can be your room, a garden, a bench, your kitchen, your basement (that's where I am as I write this), or anywhere else.

The ideal outer environment is an area without many inner distractions, and there's little to nothing that can grab your attention.

Now, you've shaped your inner and outer environments, but how do you stop those random thoughts that distract you?!

They aren't part of your inner environment or your outer environment!

They come from the mind...

You have to learn to control your mind. (It's really possible)

There are many different ways to do this, but the best and simplest way is mediation.

Don't click off yet! I know mediation sounds wishy-washy, but trust me, it's not what you think.

Mediation is focusing on one part of your body, noticing that you've gotten distracted, then going back to focus on it.

You don't need any "hums" or certain finger positions. All you need is a place to sit down.

I recommend an app called "medito". It's quick and super easy to use to meditate, but I'll guide you through the basics anyways!

You want to find a comfortable position with your back straight and close your eyes. Take a deep breath in and out and continue to breathe through your nose.

You want to focus on the breath. Before you know it, you'll be thinking of random thoughts. After realizing these thoughts, go back to focusing on the breath. You can do this for as long as you'd like.

See, it's that simple!

Think of meditation as working out (I know it sucks). You may not see results now, but before you know it, you've gone hours without losing your focus!

Meditation is a bicep curl for the brain.

You've now learned everything you need to know about focus.
